Police Involved In Fatal West Side Shooting

CHICAGO (CBS) - Chicago Police say they were shot at on the city's West side, and fired back, killing one man.
Another suspect remains on the loose.
The chain of events began when police Gang Enforcement Unit officers were making a traffic stop at Pulaski Road and Lexington Street around 7:15 p.m. Sunday, according to a statement.

Officers found two armed men in a nearby alley.
The two men opened fire on the officers, who shot back at them, fatally wounding one of the two men. The other man fled the scene.
The unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene. Two weapons were recovered.
No injuries to the police officers were reported.
The incident is being investigated by the Independent Police Review Authority (IPRA), which looks into all police-involved shootings.
