Cook County Sheriff's deputy fires shot during attempted break-in at Roseland apartment
CHICAGO (CBS)-- A Cook County Sheriff's deputy scared off someone trying to break into her home Wednesday morning in Rosleand when she shot at the suspect.
Chicago police said shortly after 4:00 a.m., a 33-year-old woman was inside a home in the 11400 block of South King Drive when she heard someone trying to get in through a window.
She fired one shot, and the suspect ran off. No one was injured.
The Cook County Sheriff's Office confirmed a deputy was involved.
No one was in custody Wednesday morning. Area Two detectives were investigating.
