Police Investigate Report Of Nail Found In Halloween Candy Bar
WHEATON (CBS) -- Police are investigating after a nail was found in a candy bar given to a child on Halloween in west suburban Wheaton.
On Sunday, a resident of the 400 block of Byron Court notified police of possible food-tampering after finding a 1-inch metal nail in a fun-size Snickers candy bar. The parent called police department and no one was injured.
The candy bar was given to a child during trick-or-treating at homes in the area close to Byron Court, including Evergreen, Illinois, Prospect, West York and Williston streets, according to police.
Police are encouraging parents to inspect all Halloween candy.
Anyone with information should call Commander of Detectives James Volpe at (630) 260-2055.
