Police Investigate Elderly Murder-Suicide
BLOOMINGDALE, Ill. (STMW) - Police in Bloomingdale are investigating the Monday deaths of a man and elderly woman as a murder-suicide. It is the second murder this month in the western suburb.
Bloomingdale police responded at 12:08 p.m. to the 100 block of Springbrook Drive in Bloomingdale and found an 88-year-old woman and a 58-year-old man dead, according to a Bloomingdale police release.
A preliminary investigation determined the deaths appear to be a murder-suicide, the release said.
The DuPage County Coroner's office could not immediately confirm the deaths.
The incident remains under investigation pending the results of autopsy and toxicology results, police said.
The death is the second apparent murder this month in the western suburb.
On Nov. 3, Marci M. Webber, 43, of East Nassau, NY, allegedly fatally stabbed her 4-year-old daughter, authorities said.
Webber was charged with one-count of first-degree murder and bond was set at $5 million, according to the DuPage County Sheriff's office.
Her child, Magdalene "Maggie" Webber, died after being stabbed so violently in the throat that the blow nearly severed her head, a law enforcement source said.
