Police Hope To Resume Search For Tanya Shannon
Her Husband Was Killed, But She's Still Missing
RANSOM, Ill. (CBS) -- Authorities in LaSalle County are hoping unseasonably warm weather coming up in the next couple of days will allow them to continue their search for a 41-year-old woman who's been missing since a car crash that killed her husband.
Tanya Shannon's husband, Dale Shannon, died after their car hit a light pole while the couple was heading home from a holiday party on Dec. 5. Deputies found footprints in the snow leading away from the car, and searchers braved the cold for days in hopes of finding the Ransom, Ill., woman.

Now, CBS 2's Megan Glaros says temperatures will top out at 52 degrees in the Chicago area by Friday.
LaSalle County Sheriff Tom Templeton says he wants to see what actually happens with the weather before deciding to resume the search. Templeton also says there are no developments in the case.
"It's frustrating from the standpoint that we see those kids and when you realize what they must be going through ... our frustrations are nothing compared to that," he said.
Autopsy results showed that Dale Shannon was drunk when he crashed into the pole. His blood alcohol level was .266, more than three times the legal limit of .08, officials said.
Officials have also revealed that Tanya Shannon filed for divorce from her husband earlier in the year. According to published reports, Tanya and Dale Shannon had reconciled their differences after Tanya filed for divorce.
The Shannons have four daughters - ages 4, 7, 10 and 15.
