Police: Drunk Driver Crashed Into Humboldt Park Home
CHICAGO (STMW) -- One man is in police custody after he crashed a car into the side of a Humboldt Park home early Monday, police said.
Police believe alcohol played a role in the crash, which occurred in the 3400 block of West Beach Avenue on the West Side about 1:20 a.m.
Police said the man was seen driving erratically in a dark-colored sedan along nearby North Avenue just before the crash.
Apparently, the man made a turn onto West Beach Avenue, but lost control of the car, crashing through a fence and ramming into the side of the home, police said.
No one was injured inside the home during the crash, which caused minor structural damage, police said.
The driver, who is in custody pending drunk driving charges, and a female passenger both declined medical attention.
