Police: Driver Was Drunk, Asleep In McDonald's Drive-Through Lane
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A motorist from Tennessee was arrested early Sunday after allegedly being drunk and falling asleep in the drive-through lane of a McDonald's restaurant.
Walter Dixon, 31, was allegedly drunk when he drove a vehicle to the Rock 'N Roll McDonald's in the 600 block of North Clark Street about 6:13 a.m. and fell asleep at the wheel, according to a release police News Affairs.
Dixon, of the 1700 block of Carmel Ave., in Memphis, Tenn., was reportedly waiting in the drive-through lane when he fell asleep.
Police News Affairs Officer Daniel O'Brien said Dixon had open containers of alcohol in the vehicle, was under the influence of alcohol and was driving on a revoked license when police arrested him.
Dixon faces charges for DUI, aggravated DUI, driving on a revoked license and transporting liquor.
He is also charged with obstructing identification for misleading police about his identity.
