Police Death Of Man Found In Alley With Bullet In Head
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are investigating the death of a man who died a day after being found having a seizure in a Beverly neighborhood alley, and was only later discovered to have a bullet in his head.
Paramedics responded to a "man down" call in an alley in the 9000 block of South Western Avenue at 2:45 p.m. Friday, and discovered a 20-year-old man apparently having a seizure, police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak said.
The man -- identified as Brian Jones of the 3800 block of West Cermak Road -- was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was pronounced dead at 5:45 p.m. Saturday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
Police were notified by the medical examiner's office that Jones had a bullet in his head, but investigators are not sure whether it was the bullet that killed him, Kubiak said.
An autopsy is scheduled for later Sunday.
Area South detectives are investigating.
