Police Catch Shooting Suspects After Chase On Eisenhower
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A shooting on the city's West Side led to a high-speed chase on the Eisenhower Expressway overnight, before police finally caught three suspects miles to the west.
Around 9 p.m. Wednesday, police heard shots near Central Park Avenue in Roosevelt Road. A 21-year-old man had been shot in leg and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, police said.
Officers saw a white minivan matching the description of one leaving the scene of the shooting and began a chase.
Police followed the van onto the Eisenhower Expressway where it eventually stopped in the outbound lanes just east of Harlem Avenue in Oak Park, police said. The three men got out of the van and fled on foot, but police caught and arrested them.
Charges against the suspects were pending Thursday morning.
