Police Catch Carjackers After Man Spots Own Car
CHICAGO (CBS/WBBM) -- Suspected carjackers made one miscalculation early Monday morning after allegedly taking a car from a man on the city's West Side.
As WBBM Newsradio 780's Bernie Tafoya reports, police say the victim was pistol-whipped by two men who stole his 2005 Chrysler 300 around 1:10 a.m., near Madison Street and Francisco Avenue.

The suspect and two others drove off in the car.
But around 1:45 a.m., the victim and his brother saw the car roll past them on a nearby street. They called 911 and started following the vehicle, telling a dispatcher the location of the vehicle and the direction the suspects were headed, police said.
The 911 dispatcher informed Harrison District officer, who positioned police vehicles to intercept the suspects near the 500 block of Western Avenue, police said. The suspects fled from the vehicle when they saw police, but two were taken into custody.
Armed robbery charges are pending early Monday against the man and the juvenile male arrested, police said.
Police are still seeking the third suspect, described only as a black male, 16 to 18 years old and wearing dark clothing, police said.
The victim was reunited with his vehicle and refused medical treatment for his injury, police said.
