Police: Boats, Alcohol Don't Mix
(CBS) -- It can be a deadly combination, and police have a simple warning: Don't do it.
We're talking about drinking and boating. This weekend, there's a crackdown, CBS 2's Chris Martinez reports.
So far this year, there have been three alcohol-related deaths on the water, authorities say. To help prevent any more, Chicago police and the U.S. Coast Guard intend to patrol the lake as the summer unfolds.
"You basically need a designated driver, a designated boat operator if you're going to go out and drink on a boat," Lt. Allison Schloss of the Chicago Police Marine Unit says.
