Police: Batavia Man Raped Woman, Drove Her To Hospital
BATAVIA, Ill. (CBS) -- A Batavia man who is due in court Wednesday morning on rape charges actually drove his victim to the hospital, according to police.
As WBBM Newsradio's Nancy Harty reports, Michael L. Jett, 54, faces multiple counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault, including that he threatened to kill his 48-year-old victim, the Daily Herald reports.

The assault on the 48-year-old Batavia woman happened sometime between May 29 and June 1, according to a release from Batavia police.
On Friday, the woman was being treated at Provena Mercy Hospital, and staff from the hospital informed police of the assault.
Batavia police tell the Daily Herald they were alerted to the assault at the hospital, where they say Jett drove his victim after he assaulted her.
The assault occurred in the 200 block of South River Drive in Batavia, and Friday afternoon detectives from the Batavia Police Department executed a search warrant, the release said. Jett, who lives there, was arrested without incident, police said.
Police were conducting follow-up interviews with the victim on Tuesday, according to the Daily Herald.
Jett was charged with six counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault — aggravated because the acts threatened the life of the victim. He is being held at the Kane County Jail on $3 million bond, according to the Kane County Sheriff's office.
The Daily Herald says Jett was charged last year with domestic abuse against another woman.
His next court date is scheduled for Wednesday at the Kane County Judicial Center in St. Charles.
