In other words, police say, Paxton was a "Peeping Tom."
"I will tell you this is a continuing investigation," said Aurora police spokesman Dan Ferrelli. "We do expect more charges to be lodged against Mr. Paxton."
Ferrelli says police finally caught up with Paxton this past weekend.
On Sunday, officers questioned him about an incident the night before. A resident in the 200 block of South Westlawn Avenue said he had seen a man running from his backyard on Saturday night, and had found a step stool outside one of his young daughter's windows.
It was the second time a man suspected to be Paxton had been spotted at the house. On April 26, Aurora police received a report that a man was peering into a different room in the house and spying on the same young girl around 11 p.m.
Paxton was also charged in both of the incidents on Westlawn Avenue, and in a third incident on March 20. On that occasion, the neighbor of a 32-year-old woman called police when she saw a man spying into the back window of a home in the 100 block of South Central Avenue in Aurora around 10:40 p.m.
After police executed a search warrant on Paxton's home on Tuesday, they found several items of girl's clothing that he had allegedly stolen from the garage of the Westlawn Avenue home after breaking in,
"It's an unusual case from the point of, that this guy has been doing this for apparently an extended period of time, at least a period of a couple of months," Ferrelli said.
Ferrelli says Paxton works at the Heritage YMCA in Naperville and supervises elementary school children.
