Police Alert Auto Owners Of Break-Ins In River North
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are warning automobile owners in the River North and Streeterville areas of some break-ins to autos that have occurred over the last month.
The break-ins have been taking place in the Near North business district in CPD Beat 1834, which covers an area between Superior and the Chicago River, and State Street to the lake.
According to the alert, the offender or offenders get into the vehicles by breaking one of the windows. The offender(s) then removes the victim's personal property. Police do not have a description of the offender(s).
Police advise residents not to leave any personal property sitting in plain view inside their vehicles, and to call 911 to report any suspicious people, vehicles, or activity near their autos.
