Police: 1 Dead, 3 Hurt In Shooting At Chatham Club
CHICAGO (STMW) -- One man was killed and three others were wounded in a shooting early Sunday at a nightclub in the South Side Chatham neighborhood, police said.
About 12:10 a.m., a gunman walked up to the open door of the club in the 900 block of East 79th Street and fired shots, striking the four men, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.
The men were involved in an argument outside the club prior to the attack, Greer said.
A man, 40, died at Advocate Trinity Hospital, Greer said. Another 40-year-old man was shot in the chest and taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. A 35-year-old man was shot in the leg and listed in "stable" condition at University of Chicago Medical Center.
Another man, 35, was taken by a friend to Jackson Park Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.
No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
