Police: 1 Dead, 2 Wounded In Bridgeport Shooting
CHICAGO (STMW) -- One man was killed and two others were wounded in a shooting early Saturday in a Bridgeport apartment, police said.
The shooting happened about 2:45 a.m. in the 3800 block of South Halsted Street, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said. The three men who were shot were in the apartment with multiple other people when shots were fired, Alfaro said.
A 21-year-old man was shot in the chest and was dead at the scene, Alfaro said.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's office could not immediately confirm the man's death.
A 22-year-old man was shot in the head and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition, Alfaro said.
The third man shot in the apartment, 25, was found in a vehicle that crashed in the 4300 block of South Wentworth Avenue a short time later, Alfaro said. He was shot in the head and leg.
Nobody was in custody early Saturday as Area Central detectives investigated.
