Plenty Of Positives For Bears Heading Into Playoffs
The Bears won't be playing this week, as the number two-seed they've earned a first round bye in the NFC Playoffs. And according to Boomer Esiason, former NFL quarterback, there are even more positives for the Bears.
"How about your defense?" Boomer said on the Danny Mac Show. "How about who I think is the comeback player of the year in Brian Urlacher? How about the best free-agent offseason signing in Julius Peppers."
And the positives aren't exclusive to the defense. Ever since the bye week, the Bears' offense has been more productive and efficient. And that's something people outside of Chicago have noticed as well.
"[They've] simplified the offense and [are] running the ball with Matt Forte, ever since the bye came around," Boomer said.
This year's team isn't the epitome "black and blue" Bears' football, but they have gotten back to that a little bit. "[They] just win the game the way the Bears are used to winning games," Boomer said. "And that's be gritty. It's defensive in nature. And now they have a quarterback that has a strong enough arm to beat anybody on the league if he gets hot."
