Players, Owners Both Present At Monday's Meetings
CHICAGO (CBS) Reports Monday indicated that players were meeting with their lawyers in Minneapolis as they continue to work toward ending the NFL lockout.
But, according to the NFL Network's Jason La Canfora, it turns out NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and a number of NFL owners were also in Minneapolis for a fifth round of meetings with the players and NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith.
Minnesota is home to U.S. Magistrate Judge Arthur Boylan who is in charge of running court-ordered mediation and has played a large role in the labor negotiations.
According to the report, "some internal deadlines have July 15 as the date a labor deal needs to be done to save the preseason in its natural form."
The Chicago Bears' preseason camp is scheduled to open July 22.
