Plane Returns To O'Hare After Mechanical Problem
CHICAGO (STMW) - No one was injured when a plane bound for Reno, Nev. returned to O'Hare International Airport when a problem with its fuel feed was detected Sunday.
American Airlines Flight 1487 departed from O'Hare at 10:41 a.m., according to airline spokeswoman Dori Alvarez. The pilot noticed an indicator light in the cockpit revealing that there was a problem with the plane's fuel feed.
The Boeing 737 plane returned to O'Hare at 12:13 p.m. as a safety precaution, Alvarez said.
No injuries were reported among the 120 passengers and six crewmembers, Alvarez said.
The passengers, who departed the plane at the gate, were waiting at the terminal until the airline determines if the issue can be fixed or passengers will have to board a second plane.
