Plainfield Teen Walking Along I-55 Dies After Being Struck By Car
(CBS) -- A Plainfield teen died after being struck by a car while walking along I-55 Sunday morning.
Shortly before 2 a.m., the 16-year-old male was walking northbound on I-55 near Shorewood when he was hit by a passenger car. The teen was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the driver of the vehicle that struck the teen stopped and no citations have been issued. The case remains under investigation.
The name of the victim is being withheld until the family is notified.
