Plainfield Police Tap Into Reward-For-Tips Website

PLAINFIELD, Ill. (WBBM) -- The Plainfield Police Department has a new weapon in its fight against crime.

The agency has begun using the website Idthisperson.com.  The website was created to assist law enforcement in identifying suspects or persons of interest in cases of identity theft, retail theft, credit card fraud and other crimes.

The website displays surveillance footage from various crimes.  Visitors to the site can view the images and provide the identity of suspects anonymously.

Those helping to identify suspects on the site can receive a $25 reward.
