Plainfield Man Charged With Impersonating Police Officer
(STMW) -- A southwest suburban man was charged with impersonating a police officer after actual law enforcement officials saw him driving a car made to look like a police cruiser.
Ross D. Ferraro Jr., 45, was arrested Thursday after State Police saw him driving a vehicle equipped to look like a police car, and pulled him over, authorities said in a statement.
They later searched his Plainfield home and found four firearms, ballistic vests, police badges, uniforms and two other vehicles outfitted with emergency lights, police said.
Ferraro is charged with false personation of a police officer, State Police said.
Anyone who may have come in contact with him is asked to contact investigators at (815) 726-6377.
