Pippen statue will be placed inside United Center
At some point during the 2010-11 season the Bulls will unveil a bronze statue of Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen. The statue, which was sculpted by the same people who did Jordan's, will be placed inside the United Center. Pippen was notified of the honor the very same week that he found out of his induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility.
Pippen described what the statue meant to him when he told Bulls.com, "It's an unbelievable honor and truly amazing. It's something you dream of as a kid growing up, but you can never foresee those childhood fantasies becoming reality. You see statues of individuals who have done great things and made their mark on history, but as a basketball player, you never really think about arriving at this point. It's an amazing honor for the Chicago Bulls to do this for me."
It has been quite a year for the Bulls great. He had his number 33 jersey retired at his alma mater, The University of Central Arkansas, he was inducted in the Naismith Hall of Fame, he returned to the Bulls as a team ambassador and now will have a statue to honor his Bulls career.
