Pierzynski Added To White Sox Roster For Detroit Series
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Just in time for the season-making (or ending?) series against Detroit, the Chicago White Sox activated catcher A.J. Pierzynski from the disabled list.
In addition, the White Sox purchased the contracts of right-handed pitchers Shane Lindsay and Addison Reed and recalled infielder Eduardo Escobar from the Class AAA Charlotte Knights.
Pierzynski, 34, was placed on the disabled list for the first time in his major-league career on Aug. 16 with a fractured left wrist sustained on Aug. 11 vs. Kansas City when he was hit by a Bruce Chen pitch in the third inning.
