Pierson: NFL's Oldest Rivalry Finds National Stage
For Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers' fans, this rivalry is as big as it gets. But this will be the first time that the rivalry will be put front and center for the rest of the nation.
"What's interesting is that they've played a million times," Don Pierson, of the Chicago Tribune, said on the Mully and Hanley Show. "But, there's only a hand full of them that have really meant anything outside of Wisconsin and Illinois. So it's nice that the rest of the country gets to see what this is about."

The magnitude of this game is being felt all across Illinois and Wisconsin. It's all that the fans and the media have talked about this week. But, while the players understand the importance, when they step on the field it becomes just another game in this rivalry.
"The players, this is the biggest game they could ever play," Pierson said. "But I'm not sure it's going to effect the players, mentally, anymore than when they're both losing teams, because the fans and the aura and the mystique always makes it a big game."
