Pierre, White Sox Among Those Owed Money By Dodgers
By Adam Hoge-
CHICAGO (CBS) The Chicago White Sox and outfielder Juan Pierre are among the top 11 creditors named in the Los Angeles Dodgers bankruptcy filing.
The White Sox are still owed the $3.5 million the Dodgers agreed to send over in the Pierre trade in December 2009. As a result, they are listed fifth on the list of top 40 creditors in the filing.
Pierre is still owed $3.05 million by the Dodgers, ranking him No. 11 on the list.
Other former White Sox players on the list include Manny Ramirez (No. 1, $20,992,086), Andrew Jones (No. 2, $11.075 million), Juan Uribe (No. 9, $3,241,758) and Jon Garland (No. 13, $1,211,538).
Former Cubs pitcher Ted Lilly is owed $3,423,077 by the Dodgers, which is enough to rank him sixth on the list of creditors.
Dodgers owner Frank McCourt was forced to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy Monday after MLB Commissioner Bud Selig rejected a $3 billion television deal proposed by McCourt last week.
