(WSCR) On This day in 1976, the Chicago White Sox debuted a new style of baseball attire.

Instead of wearing the traditional long pants with their jerseys, the club, then 19 games back in the loss column and in desperate need of some publicity, wore shorts for the first time in franchise history.
