Peyton Manning Tells Broncos He's Prepared To Return In 2015
(CBS) After enduring his ninth one-and-done in 14 playoffs last month, the future of Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning was in doubt. However, reports indicate Manning may be returning to action this fall.
The 17-year NFL veteran told the Broncos he's mentally and physically ready to play in 2015, per a report from ESPN's Chris Mortensen.
Manning sought out a comprehensive medical evaluation from renowned trainer Mackie Shilstone who gave the quarterback a strong physical assessment. Manning struggled with a thigh injury down the stretch of the regular season and into the postseason.
Steps remain to get full clearance for the upcoming season and the two sides hope to come to a conclusion shortly.
If he decides to play, Manning will earn $21.5 million this season, a big sum for a team whose two best offensive weapons -- wide receiver Demaryius Thomas and tight end Julius Thomas - are set to become free agents.
