Peterson's Former Neighbor: It's Time For Justice For Stacy

BOLINGBROOK, Ill. (CBS) -- With the guilty verdict for Drew Peterson this week, a neighbor of the former Bolingbrook police sergeant says it is now time to put all efforts toward solving the case of Peterson's missing fourth wife, Stacy.

As WBBM Newsradio's Dave Berner reports, Sharon Bychowski lived right next door to Drew and Stacy Peterson, and became a close personal friend to Stacy.

"I was friends with Stacy," Bychowski said. "She also worked for me."

Bychowski says justice was done when a jury convicted Peterson of the murder of his third wife, Kathleen Savio, in 2004.

Now, Bychowski says, it is time again to focus on Stacy Peterson and solve that disappearance.

"For her children's sake, they need to find her and put her to rest, because she deserves our dignity," Bychowski said. "Her voice – her small voice – was heard loud and clear in that courtroom, and she deserves the same kind of justice."

Stacy Peterson disappeared in October 2007, and her body has never been found. Investigators believe she is dead, and have named Peterson a person of interest in her disappearance, but he has never been charged in that case.

Peterson has always insisted that Stacy ran off with another man.

It was Stacy's disappearance that spurred authorities to exhume Savio and conduct a new autopsy. Her death was initially classified as an accidental drowning, but was reclassified as a homicide following the second autopsy.
