Stephen Peterson took possession of some of his father's guns while Drew Peterson was being investigated in the disappearance of his wife, Stacy.

The son is an Oak Brook police officer.

Stephen Peterson admitted he took the guns just before his father's home was searched.

Now, Oak Brook Chief Thomas Sheahan wants him out.

The Oak Brook police and fire board is being asked to suspend Stephen Peterson without pay, pending a disciplinary hearing, during which the chief will ask that he be fired.

Newsradio 780's Regine Schlesinger reports, it's the third time the Oak Brook police chief as brought up allegations against Stephen Peterson.

Peterson's lawyer, Tamara Cummings, says all of the allegations are false and vindictive against her client because of his father's notoriety.

"Not only does he have to worry about defending against these charges, he has to worry about supporting himself, his children and his father's children,'' Cummings said.

Cummings said she expects the board to back Sheahan and will appeal the decision.

Drew Peterson is charged with the murder of 3rd wife, Kathleen Savio, and is a suspect in fourth wife, Stacy's disappearance.
