Person Shot, Wounded On South Side

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A person was shot and seriously wounded Friday morning in the Auburn-Gresham neighborhood.

About 10:55 a.m. in the 8800 block of South Hermitage Avenue, someone shot a man of unidentified age in the face, according to police News Affairs Officer Robert Perez.

The victim was critically injured, according to Perez. Fire Media Affairs spokesman Joe Roccasalva said he was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

Perez had no details on the attack as of 1:30 p.m.

Calumet Area police detectives are investigating.
