Person Hit By Train In Red Line Subway

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A person was hit by a train Tuesday, and ended up pinned underneath, in the Red Line subway near the Clark and Division stop.
Paramedics were called to a report of a person under a train at 11:56 a.m, according to Fire Media Affairs. That person was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious to critical condition.
The train's engineer was also taken to Northwestern Memorial in good condition, Fire Media said.
Chicago Transit Authority spokeswoman Lambrini Lukidis said the driver suffered no physical injuries, but may have suffered shock or trauma from the incident.
Power was removed from the subway tracks in the area, and all north- and southbound Red Line trains ran on the elevated tracks between the Fullerton and Chinatown/Cermak stops, CTA spokeswoman Catherine Hosinski said.
Power was restored to the southbound subway tracks about 12:45 p.m., Lukidis said, and to the northbound tracks around 1 p.m.
