CHICAGO (STMW) - Power was shut off for about an hour on the CTA's Red Line on the South Side Monday afternoon and shuttle buses were called into service after a person was hit by a train.
At about 2 p.m., a male was struck by a southbound Red Line train at the 95th Street station, police News Affairs Officer Daniel O'Brien said.
He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, O'Brien said. Police did not know his age or condition and as of 6 p.m.
Power was turned off in both directions on the Red Line between 69th and 95th streets at about 2 p.m., CTA spokeswoman Catherine Hosinski said. Buses have been taking customers between the two stations, both north and southbound, she said.
Power was restored and trains were moving through the area again as of about 3:20 p.m., but the shuttle buses kept operating for a short time longer, Hosinski said.
