Peppers, Hester Help NFC Dominate Pro Bowl
The NFC dominated in the Pro Bowl with the help of two Chicago Bears. Four Bears were invited, but only kick returner/wide receiver Devin Hester and defensive end Julius Peppers were able to attend. Linebackers Brian Urlacher and Lance Briggs withdrew with undisclosed injuries.
The NFC dominated the first half 42-7. The AFC rallied to comeback in the second half, but still fell 55-41.
Hester gained 19 yards on a double reverse on the drive. He also caught two passes in the first half for 27 yards.
Julius Peppers was selected as one of the NFC's captains and appeared to force a fumble after stripping Houston Texans running back Arian Foster. However, San Francisco's Justin Smith was credited for the play.
A fumble made by Hester when trying to hand off the ball to the Redskins' DeAngelo Hall during a third-period kick-off return led to a touchdown for the AFC. Despite the mistake, Hester, Peppers and the rest of the Pro Bowlers on the NFC still took home an extra $45,000 for winning.
