Peppers Added To NFC Pro Bowl Roster
(CBS) Julius Peppers is headed to the Pro Bowl for the seventh time in his career.
The Bears defensive end was added to the NFC roster Monday as a replacement for Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul, who will be playing in the Super Bowl instead.
Peppers had 11 sacks, five tackles for losses, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries this season and is headed to Hawaii as a member of the Bears for the second straight season. He is the first Bears defensive end to reach the Pro Bowl in back-to-back seasons since Hall of Famer Richard Dent (1984 and 1985).
Peppers will join Bears cornerback Charles Tillman, running back Matt Forte and special teamer Corey Graham at the Pro Bowl this Sunday. Brian Urlacher and Lance Briggs were recognized as Pro Bowlers, but backed out of the game because of injuries.
