Peoples Gas To Refund Customers Following Court Ruling
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The Illinois Commerce Commission has approved a $2.3 million refund for Peoples Gas customers.
As WBBM Newsradio's David Roe reports, the refunds are for customers who were charged a fee to help Peoples Gas pay for a gas main replacement program in Chicago.
The fee was challenged by Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan and the Citizens Utility Board.
An appeals court ruled last year that the ICC should not have approved the charge.
If you are a Peoples Gas customer, you will see the refund in the form of a credit on your monthly bill starting next month through next March.
