Penn State Students Camp Out To Protect Paterno Statue
(WSCR) One day after a plane circled State College, Pa., with a banner reading "take down the statue or we will," a group of Penn State students is camping out near the statue adorning Joe Paterno to protect it.
With the release of the Freeh Report last week, which showed Joe Paterno was woefully negligent in reporting the child sex-abuse by former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky, discussion has begun to remove the statue of Paterno, which rests outside of Beaver Stadium.
According to a report, at least two students have set up a tent near the statue in an act to preserve it.
