Pedestrian Struck By Metra Train In Evanston

EVANSTON, Ill. (STMW) - A pedestrian was struck by a Metra train Sunday night in north suburban Evanston.

About 7:20 p.m., a pedestrian was struck by a Union Pacific North Line train near the Evanston Central Street station, 1826 Central St., said Metra spokesman Tom Miller.

The person, whose gender and age are currently not known, was taken in an unidentified condition to Evanston Hospital, Miller said.

The train left the Evanston Central Street station at 8:30 p.m., Miller said.

The following trains were stopped at the Evanston Central station due to the incident: no. 812 that was expected to arrive in Chicago at 6:11 p.m., no. 814 scheduled to arrive in Chicago at 8:25 p.m., and no. 815 expected to arrive in Waukegan at 7:52pm., according to the Metra website.
