Pedestrian Seriously Injured After Being Hit By Car
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 22-year-old man was seriously injured after being hit by a car early Sunday morning in the Streeterville neighborhood.
According to Chicago Police, the accident happened at around 2 a.m. as the pedestrian was hit by a car while walking across Water Street in the 400 block of North Columbus. The victim was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious condition with head and torso injuries.
The driver of the car, 34-year-old Phillip Beverly of Chicago, was cited by police for failure to exercise due care for a pedestrian in the road. The driver also had minor injuries and was taken to Northwestern.
