Pedestrian Killed In Hit-And-Run In Englewood
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A pedestrian was found dead early Friday after a hit-and-run accident in the South Side Englewood neighborhood.
Officers responded at 3:40 a.m. to the 6000 block of South Yale Avenue to a report of a pedestrian struck by a car, police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines said. A 40-year-old man was dead at the scene, Gaines said.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's office confirmed the man's death, but said as of about 9:30 a.m. he remained unidentified.
Police had no description of the vehicle that struck him, nor have any witnesses come forward as of later Friday morning.
The police Major Accident Investigation Unit is investigating.
