Pedestrian Critically Injured In Aurora Hit-And-Run
AURORA, Ill. (STMW) -- Police are searching for a driver who critically injured a 56-year-old man in a hit-and-run Thursday night in west suburban Aurora.
The Aurora man was in a crosswalk in the 200 block of North Broadway Avenue near the Aurora Transportation Center when a southbound car struck him about 6:20 p.m., according to a statement from Aurora police.
The driver did not stop and continued southbound on Broadway, police said.
Video surveillance footage appears to show the driver had a green light at the intersection, police said. Investigators are attempting to enhance the footage and check other surveillance systems in the area.
Paramedics took the pedestrian to a hospital for apparent head injuries, police said. He is expected to survive.
The car may have been blue or green in color, police said. No one was in custody as of Friday morning.
