Peavy Throws Simulated Game In Detroit
(CBS) White Sox starting pitcher Jake Peavy is working to make his return to the big leagues after suffering a rib injury in early June.
Tuesday afternoon in Detroit, Peavy threw 76 pitches during a four-inning simulated game before the White Sox kicked off a four-game series with the Tigers.
The 32-year-old right-hander hasn't pitched since June 4 due to a left rib fracture.
Depending on how his body responds to the added work, Peavy could make his first minor-league rehab start Sunday in Alabama for Double-A Birmingham.
