Peavy Returns To White Sox After D.L. Stint
(CBS) Jake Peavy was reinstated to the active White Sox roster Friday after spending about a month and a half on the disabled list.
Peavy will start Saturday's game against the Atlanta Braves at U.S. Cellular Field.
The right-handed starter went on the disabled list June 6 after fracturing his left fourth anterior rib June 4 against the Seattle Mariners. After sitting out over a month, Peavy made a rehab start Sunday with Double-AA Birmingham and allowed only one run on five hits over five innings.
Pitching coach Don Cooper told 670 The Score Thursday that Peavy will be limited to somewhere around 100 pitches in Saturday's start.
Peavy is 6-4 with a 4.30 ERA in 11 starts with the White Sox this season.
