Peavy Pitches Well In Rehab Start
(CBS) Jake Peavy struck out nine and only allowed two hits in six scoreless innings Wednesday night in a rehab start with the Charlotte Knights.
It was Peavy's first start since suffering a right groin strain June 5.
White Sox reliever Tony Pena was also in Charlotte for rehab work and he pitched a perfect seventh inning in relief of Peavy. Pena is recovering from right elbow tendinitis.
The Knights lost 3-2 to the Syracuse Chiefs, but White Sox prospect Dayan Viciedo continued his hot hitting as he drove in both of the Knights' runs while going 3-for-4 with a home run and two doubles.
