'Good Day' For Peavy In Spring Training Debut
In maybe the most important spring training start for any starting pitcher, Jake Peavy looked about as good as the Chicago White Sox could have hoped.

Peavy pitched two innings, walked one batter, struck out two and got out of the first inning on a double play. In addition, 16 of his 26 pitches went for strikes and he didn't allow a hit in either inning.
"I'm relieved, pleased. It was a good day," Peavy said. "It was a step in the right direction to get into a game.
"I did what I expected to do, what I had hoped to do, get some big-league hitters out and feel normal about it."

Peavy suffered a detached latissimus dorsi muscle in his back in the July 6 game against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
"I hope we put a lot of questions to rest and we'll see how we feel [Saturday]," Peavy said. "Hopefully, there's nothing abnormal."
Peavy could pitch as soon as Wednesday if no other issues arise between now and then.
