Peavy Heading To All-Star Game As Replacement
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Jake Peavy is heading to the All-Star Game in Kansas City after all.
Peavy, who lost the "Final Vote" to the Rangers' Yu Darvish last week, was named to the All-Star Game as a replacement for Angels' pitcher C.J. Wilson, who has a blister on his middle finger.
Peavy joins teammates Chris Sale, Adam Dunn, and Paul Konerko on the American League team.
He ranks 6th in the AL in ERA and strikeouts, 4th in WHIP, and 3rd in innings pitched.
