Paxson: No Limit For Rose's Minutes
(CBS) Tuesday night in Miami, Derrick Rose will play his first meaningful NBA game since April 26, 2012.
It was on that day the then-reigning MVP torn his ACL, missing the entire 2012-13 season.
As Rose and the Bulls prepare to kick off their season against the reigning NBA champions, the team isn't setting any type of minute limit on their super star.
"No, not at all," Bulls VP of basketball operations John Paxson told The Mully and Hanley Show. "I think Derrick did very well in the preseason. We aren't even thinking along those lines."
Paxson said the Bulls' success this season will boil down to one thing: health.
"The key for us, as it is most teams, is health," Paxson said. "If we're healthy, we're going to run the lineup out there with Derrick and Jimmy (Butler) in the back court, Luol (Deng), Carlos (Boozer) and Joakim (Noah) as starters. We feel great about that. We also feel great about the veteran guys we have coming off our bench. If we stay healthy, then we have the opportuinity to be the team we think we can be, but that remains to be seen."
