Pau Gasol's Big Performance Leads Spain Into EuroBasket Semifinals
(CBS) Two Bulls played the leading roles in pushing Spain into the EuroBasket semifinals on Tuesday.
Pau Gasol had 27 points and nine rebounds, while Nikola Mirotic added 18 points to lead the Spanish national team to a 73-71 victory against Greece in quarterfinal matchup in Lille, France. Spain will face the France-Latvia winner on Thursday in the semifinals.
Gasol shot 10-of-18 from the field, including 1-of-2 from deep, and 6-of-8 from the free-throw line. He also blocked two shots in just shy of 31 minutes. Mirotic shot 4-of-8 from the field, including 2-of-4 from beyond the arc, and 8-of-8 at the line. He played a team-high 31-plus minutes.
