Patrick Mannelly Joins Matt Spiegel To Form 670 The Score's New Midday Show
CHICAGO (CBS) — The beginning of the new football season coincides with a new era for WSCR 670 The Score, as longtime Chicago Bear Patrick Mannelly has been named the new midday show co-host. Mannelly will partner with Matt Spiegel to form the Spiegel and Mannelly Show, which will start Tuesday, Sept. 2. The show will air weekdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Mannelly retired in June following an illustrious 16-year career in which he suited up for the Bears in 245 games. With his playing days only recently coming to an end, he will provide an insight into the inner workings of today's game that no one else in Chicago radio can.
"To be able to share my perception of what is taking place both on and off the field is a very exciting move for me," Mannelly said. "By joining the mid-day show with Matt Spiegel, I look forward to building a great show together and entertaining the Score listeners."
Since retiring within the last 60 days, Mannelly has hosted occasionally with Spiegel and now will take over the position on a regular basis.
"For Mannelly to join our team just a couple months removed from playing for the Bears and the NFL is what makes this work so well," WSCR Program Director Mitch Rosen said. "His insight, opinions and energy will make this a terrific Chicago sports radio show. Spiegel and Mannelly bring a great mix of intelligent sports content and insider knowledge to our team."
While Mannelly is known for his days with the Bears, his background and knowledge expands across the entire Chicago sports spectrum.
"I can't wait to talk about all Chicago sports with the Score family," he said.
The Spiegel and Mannelly Show will be broadcast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday through Friday. The show can be heard on-air, online at www.670thescore.com and via the Radio.com app for mobile devices. Live video can also be seen at www.watch670TheScore.com.
