Passengers Injured In Pace Bus Accident In Harvey
HARVEY, Ill. (CBS) -- Twenty-four people were hospitalized after a Pace bus crashed into a building on Tuesday.
The accident occurred when the bus driver had to swerve to avoid a car that ran a red light at 153rd Street and Park Avenue in south suburban Harvey.
The bus collided with the car, then crashed into the wall of a nearby building.
There were about 50 passengers on the bus when the accident occurred around 3:50 p.m.
The bus driver and 23 passengers were transported to three different hospitals. None of the injuries is serious.
The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and will be issued a citation, police said.
